Pachyderm is available at three URL's:
  • http://pachyderm.pa.dec.com inside the Compaq firewall
  • https://pachyderm.pa-x.dec.com (an SSL server) outside the firewall
  • https://pachyderm.pa-x.dec.com/wap (a WAP/WML server)
Access from outside the firewall requires that you first enable external access via the "Preferences" menu item (in the Java client) or the "Options" button (in the HTML client).

The top frame of the Pachyderm home page has links for the available Pachyderm client interfaces. The "Java Applet" link loads the applet into the top frame, and presents the login dialog there. The "Pure HTML" link loads the HTML login page into the top-level window. The "WAP Client" link tells you how to use Pachyderm from a WAP-enabled device such as a mobile phone.

The Java applet is the only client with full functionality - you should use that one first. However, the applet doesn't work with older browsers, nor any of the Macintosh browsers; the HTML client works everywhere.

Login with your simple user name (e.g. "birrell", not "birrell@pa.dec.com") and password. The case of letters is significant. The pull-down menu in the Java applet is a debugging tool for Mike and Ted - leave it alone.

If you have trouble logging in, please consult our technical support group.
